The ESW-10 subwoofer offers terrific performance and great features:
The ESW-10 has a bass-reflex design with a front-firing port; it delivers rock-solid bass notes from a 10-inch MPP cone with our exclusive Ribbed Elliptical Surround. This design eliminates surround distortion, enabling the subwoofer to play lower with greater output and fidelity. An efficient internal power amplifier enables the ESW-10 to deliver 400 watts of output for accurate, deep and powerful bass response.
It features line and speaker level inputs as well as a variable low-pass filter for seamless blending with a wide variety of speakers, including Energy’s C-Series and Take Series. The subwoofer also has a power mode switch that enables it to turn on and off automatically, based on the presence or absence of an audio signal.
Maximum performance tips
The three most common subwoofer locations include corners (which can result in boomy or exaggerated low frequency response), placement along a wall, away from the corner (producing moderate bass performance with increased fidelity over corner placement), or beside a front speaker (creating a better blend with the front speaker, but sacrificing overall volume). Experimentation with subwoofer placement is highly encouraged; slight adjustments can create big differences in sound reproduction. To test subwoofer placement, install it temporarily in your main listening position and walk around the listening room while playing a familiar piece of music until you find the best sounding position.
